This field study tour will provide an insight into both the complexity and successes of South Australia’s holistic approach to bushfire risk reduction.
A coordinated program, involving various state and local government authorities, and the community, has led to increased community education and awareness, better fire management planning and risk assessment, improved landscape fuel reduction burning, and better informed biodiversity management.
The study tour is designed to showcase how the co-operative approach is addressing the complex elements of bushfire risk, with the goal of leading to safer communities and more resilient built and environmental assets.
